Manchester Airport Directions

Manchester Airport (MAN) is located approximately 9 miles south-west of Manchester city centre and sits directly off Junction 5 of the M56 motorway. The official postcode is M90 1QX.

Directions to the airport depend on the direction of travel:

From the North (City Centre/M60): Take the A5103 Princess Parkway south directly onto the M56, or join the M60 anti-clockwise to Junction 4, merging onto the M56 Westbound. Exit at Junction 5 for the airport terminals.
From the South (via M6): Travel North on the M6 and exit at Junction 19 to take the A556 towards Altrincham/Manchester. This leads directly to the M56. Head East on the M56 and exit at Junction 5 for the airport.
From the East (Yorkshire/Pennines): Join the M60 ring road heading anti-clockwise. Exit at Junction 4 to merge onto the M56 Westbound, and exit at Junction 5.
From the West (Liverpool/Chester): Travel East on the M62 to Junction 10, then head South on the M6. Exit at Junction 20a and head East on the M56 towards the airport. Exit at Junction 5.
Approaching Junction 5: As you approach the M56 Junction 5, follow the overhead gantry signs that specify the exact terminal you are flying from (Terminal 2 or Terminal 3) to get into the correct lane for your parking or drop-off zone.
